Vancouver Fashion Week and Launch Update!

Vancouver Fashion Week was AMAZING!! we got tons and tons of great feedback, lots of interest and sooo many pictures. To see pictures check out our facebook group at Defy Gravity Designs. The first two nights we were there we caught up with old friends who moved out there. It was so great catching up with them and they are flying in from Vancouver for our launch party! Defy Gravity Designs showcased at the opening gala at the Terminal City Club in West Hastings. Beautiful venue just gorgeous. Our two models Lucia and Dominque were amazing I dressed them up gave them business cards and away they went talked to everyone, amazing girls for sure. We are currently working on getting into a photoshoot for a magazine that was offered to us at the event, we will update on that with more information later.

The launch is now in one week! So exciting, it seems like a week ago we were just starting this lovely idea and now it is a full blown reality! The party is at Spur Gastropub on 4th Ave in between 2nd and 3rd street SW in downtown Calgary. It starts at 7pm on Saturday November 21st. There is going to be free food which chef Scotty has specially made for the event the food prepared is not even on the menu, and there are going to be free drinks. The first 100 people will get a rad DGD scarf that we are speacially making for the event and we will be having a silent auction. 50% of the ticket sales are going to families in need charity and 100% of the silent auction sales are going to the charity as well. 10% of all orders made that night for clothing or jewellery will also go to the charity. The fashion show to show off our new line will begin at 8 with lovely beautiful people modelling. Dj badbooks will be spinning all night long! This night is going to be amazing make sure you come down! Van Fashion Week update

Last night was the show at the Whiskey Nightclub that DGD was apart of. Thanks to all who came out and supported and thanks to all who wanted to come but was too short notice ( I appologize super short notice). We launched our crazy couture headpiece and jewellery line and it went fantastically! Now DGD has been invited to be apart of Vancouver Fashion Week!! YAY!! The next two weeks are sure to be a crazy time as the shows start on November 3rd. Here we come Vancouver! I love that city!

Clothing samples are in! The dresses and hoodies look amazing such a good job we are really really pleased. We had a photo shoot on October 15th and the photos are lovely, so so so great! Photos will be up soon, as soon as we get them back from the photographer :)

Hey Hey Hey!!

Shirt samples are coming this week! We went to the silk screening place last week and gave all the clothes to be printed. Everything should be done by wednesday I am hoping! Yay! They are going to look amazing! Planning for our crazy launch party at Spur Gastropub is going rather swimingly, still tons and tons to do but going great! Jewellery samples are also underway and looking fantastic! Stayed tuned for photos they will be up once all is made.

Another exciting thing to happen.. DGD is in the works of talking with Vancouver fashion week!! There is a show and fundraiser for the designers so they can attend Van city fashion week and it is being held at the Whisky nightclub on saturday October 17th! So come out and support local fashion tickets are only $20 and you get to see a pretty rad fashion show! Thanks loves!
